This page is about endangered animals I care about. I care about all animals but these animals I feel most people should know about. I care a lot about endangered cats but there a lot of other endangered animals need help too. I want to help all the animals I care about through this website.

Scottish Wildcats

I care a lot about Scottish wildcats, but they are not local to me so i would like to help them through this website. Scottish wildcat evolved from a group of European wildcats isolated by the English Chanel. They live mostly in the Clashindarroch Forest . They are the worlds rarest cat having only 35 individuals in the wild. They can be twice the size of a domestic cat. It has very thick fur and distinctive black stripes. Broken stripes, spots, or white bits are the effect of hybridization with domestic cats. They also have perfect rings on their thick and fluffy tail. A dorsal stripe going down the tail is also a effect of hybridization. Scottish wildcats live seven years in the wild and fifteen in captivity. They eat small to medium prey animals like rabbits, hares, mice, and other small animals. Given the chance they will catch birds, insects, lizards, and sometimes even fish. They have an average of three kittens born between April and May. They are threatened by habitat destruction.

Amur Leopard

Amur leopards are the worlds rarest big cat. They are also known as the Korean Leopard, the Manchurian leopards, or the Far East Leopard. They live in the forests next to the Amur River. They have one to four cubs. They eat roe and sika deer, wild pigs, badgers, and hares. They are Critically Endangered and have around 80 individuals left in the wild. They are endangered because of habitat loss and inbreeding.

Butlers Garter Snake

The Butler’s Garter Snake was taken off Wisconsin’s endangered and threatened animals list in 2011. I think It should probably still be on because big companies are now building in the fields the the butler’s garter snakes live in. If this happens the butler’s garter snake could go extinct!
